TMAA Mission
The mission is threefold: (1) to unite municipal attorneys of the State of Tennessee into a permanent organization that will promote and encourage effective and efficient legal service for Tennessee municipalities, (2) to encourage and improve communication and cooperation
among Tennessee's municipal attorneys, and (3) to cooperate with the Tennessee Municipal League in seeking solutions to problems of the State's municipalities

SAVE THE DATE! TMAA Land Use Seminar Set for September 23.
The TMAA Land Use Law Seminar produced with the Tennessee County Attorneys Association and Metro Nashville is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Sonny West Conference Room in the Howard Office Building, 700 Second Avenue South, Nashville. This will be the third annual land use seminar sponsored by these organizations. Principal speaker will be George Dean, attorney with Tune, Entrekin & White in Nashville. Other speakers are to be scheduled.

TMAA will hold its 2016 Land Use seminar on September 23 in Nashville. Metro Nashville is providing us the Sonny West Conference Room in the Howard Office Building on Second Avenue. This year's seminar also includes an hour of ethics training.

TMAA Summer Seminar
TMAA held its 2016 summer seminar on June 13 in Gatlinburg. Attending members can download seminar materials.

IMLA Gives Membership Break to Small Cities in TMAA
The International Municipal Lawyers Association has agreed with TMAA to allow city attorneys from cities with a population of less than 2,600 who are members of TMAA to become members of IMLA for a very modest yearly membership fee of $50.00. The normal charge is $375.00. IMLA, like TMAA, provides CLE programs, publications, a listserve, ordinance services, and other assistance to city attorneys. This should be an opportunity for attorneys from small cities to broaden their contacts and horizons. To join IMLA under this program, contact TMAA.
